NeuroBase supports growth in feeder-independent cultures of prenatal and fetal brain neurons. The basal medium is formulated without glutamate and aspartate. NeuroBase may be supplemented with chemically defined additives, such as NCS21, or serum.

The NeuroBase product line consists of two different basal media for cultivation of different types of neuronal cells. The product line is complemented by two chemically-defined additives, NCS21- and N2-supplement.
NeuroBase is a specialized basal medium formulated to boost growth of prenatal and fetal brain neurons. Unlike traditional methods that rely on supportive astrocyte feeder cells, NeuroBase allows feeder-independent cultivation of these mature neurons and neuronal tumor cell lines.
